After 3 minutes, Marko Chekhovskyi mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Philadelphia Union FC and the Kjønstad BF players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 3 played minutes Philadelphia Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Marko Chekhovskyi. Ruslan Martynyuk hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute Andreas Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demjan Yatsyk saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jon Fischer hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Philip Sjøberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 18th minute of the match Marko Chekhovskyi completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marko Chekhovskyi a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Danylo Gusak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Stig-Inge Nordmark made a huge save. A collision led to Philadelphia Union FC getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gavrylo Dotsenko hit a great ball. The supporters of Kjønstad BF booed when Philadelphia Union FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artem Berezovchuk didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Jim Remøy fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kjønstad BF's protests and gave Jim Remøy a yellow card for diving instead. Ruslan Martynyuk received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Stig-Inge Nordmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kjønstad BF's Stig-Inge Nordmark played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danylo Gusak in the 38th minute of play. Gavrylo Dotsenko sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Haug made a kick off. Danylo Gusak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Stig-Inge Nordmark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 72 played minutes Philadelphia Union FC got a freekick which was hit by Vitaliy Nedilko. Wilhelm Semb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Philip Sjøberg got free with Demjan Yatsyk in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Jon Fischer came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Kjønstad BF fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jon Fischer couldn't finish the play. 89 minutes into the match, Philadelphia Union FC's goalkeeper Demjan Yatsyk had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jon Fischer. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danylo Gusak in the 94th minute of play forced Kjønstad BF's goalkeeper Stig-Inge Nordmark to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kjønstad BF were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Philadelphia Union FC to leave the ground with a draw.
