After 20 minutes of play, Mercado Paulista F.C's Kent Lindberg made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cirilo Bernard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bartolo Beliran stood somewhat misplaced when Lennart Käcker came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 26 minute. When Kent Lindberg came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the Mercado Paulista F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kent Lindberg couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Mercado Paulista F.C's Bartolo Beliran got control of the ball when Michel Hedkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kent Lindberg in the 33rd minute of play forced Club Atlético La Vía's goalkeeper Cirilo Bernard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
