An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristobal Hulberto in the 26th minute of play forced Union Y Progreso F.C.'s goalkeeper Ali Vedat Çelikyay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Meruendano came free, but Abel Neron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Union Y Progreso F.C. booed when Deportivo Balvanera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristobal Hulberto didn't get a good kick on the ball.
