After some careless play in the 20 DE SETEMBRO defense, Lei Feng Yan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benê Goiano. The 20 DE SETEMBRO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benê Goiano should have stopped the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Renato Augusto got free with Benê Goiano in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 27th minute, Paulão Barreto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 29 minutes, Geovani Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovani Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donny Verweijen in the 32nd minute of play. 20 DE SETEMBRO's Erivaldo Antunes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aurelio Walme in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Aurelio Walme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erling Franks in the 35th minute of the match. Benê Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Renato Augusto, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Geovani Medeiros made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Renato Augusto notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of 20 DE SETEMBRO's Benê Goiano. Benê Goiano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of 20 DE SETEMBRO booed when S.E.R. In the 87th minute, Breno Vergílio made a precise shot to the right of Benê Goiano. 20 DE SETEMBRO's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Aurelio Walme proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save S.E.R.
