Rian Giggs started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bonifaco Corrillos during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 played minutes Sabaneta FC got a freekick which was hit by Bonifaco Corrillos. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Stanislaw Cempa sped through Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo Rosio. 20 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Hernandez came free, but Kevin Mier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Luís Hernandez, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 20 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Kevin Mier was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Paulo Rosio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Correia in the 37th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Hernandez in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kevin Mier saved Sabaneta FC from getting behind. In the 43rd minute Sabaneta FC were awarded a corner. Fabian Lawrence went to the cornerflag to take it. Luís Hernandez received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luís Hernandez made a kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Kevin Mier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kevin Mier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Hernandez in the 57th minute of play. A throw-in in the 59th minute of the game was made by Bonifaco Corrillos with Roi Vergas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 60 minutes into the match, Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulo Rosio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Stanislaw Cempa. Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Rian Giggs scored to the left of an out of position Paulo Rosio, making the score, 1-2. 65 minutes into the match, Rian Giggs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Rosio. Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rian Giggs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yoel Magarinos in the 93rd minute of play forced Atletas Campesinos F.C.'s goalkeeper Paulo Rosio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Atletas Campesinos F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Sabaneta FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
