Rähim Sterling fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patryk Basaik having to interfere. The Garphyttan fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Garphyttan's Rähim Sterling looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 34thth minute of the game Viktor Albäck who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s Patryk Basaik was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Garphyttan's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Detres came free, but Erik Skog reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s zone, Rähim Sterling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patryk Basaik came out of the goal and Rähim Sterling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rähim Sterling to make the kick off. The supporters of Garphyttan booed when Real Guayaquil.F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jessie Rosario didn't get a good kick on the ball.
