Dragomir Marchovski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remus Vermeşan in the 11th minute of the match. But to his dismay, Marcel Petculescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Stone City booed when ASF BAIA MARE -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Pereira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 36 minutes into the game, Pavel Balc cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Thomás Linares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41st match minute, ASF BAIA MARE -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celsinho Pereira to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Stone City's Pavel Balc ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Thomás Linares. Thomás Linares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Chu Wen Le received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Thomás Linares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s zone, Pavel Balc stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thomás Linares came out of the goal and Pavel Balc tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the ASF BAIA MARE -MM- defense, Pavel Balc kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thomás Linares. The ASF BAIA MARE -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thomás Linares should have stopped the shot. Victor Huștiu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Thomás Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavel Balc in the 60th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Pavel Balc had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thomás Linares. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Thomás Linares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leon Matthäus in the 77th minute of play. Lucho Cal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 95th minute, Leon Matthäus ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thomás Linares was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
