Lucio Afonso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Naike in the 12th minute of play. Vélez Juniors were awarded a corner in the 13th minute after TALLERES DE CBA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Santos Fonda took the corner. The corner ended in Santos Fonda almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but TALLERES DE CBA's Lucio Afonso did a great save. 20 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Bonifacio Txerran came free, but Elpidio Vitin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Josué Braga in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elpidio Vitin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some careless play in the TALLERES DE CBA defense, Cristian Naike kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucio Afonso. The TALLERES DE CBA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucio Afonso should have stopped the shot. Cristian Naike blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lucio Afonso having to make a save. In the 39th minute Cristian Naike shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucio Afonso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Vélez Juniors from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike got a free kick in the 48th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Elpidio Vitin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldo Pika's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind TALLERES DE CBA's goalkeeper Lucio Afonso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to TALLERES DE CBA getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Celedonio Montes hit a great ball. Santos Fonda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Lucio Afonso made a huge save. Elpidio Vitin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Txerran in the 76th minute of play. With a little luck, TALLERES DE CBA's Lucio Afonso got control of the ball when Cristian Naike tried to sneak it across the goal line. Elpidio Vitin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Ronaldo Pika notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin. Elpidio Vitin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Pika in the 92nd minute of the match. Bonifacio Txerran charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bonifacio Txerran the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to TALLERES DE CBA getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Bonifacio Txerran hit a great ball. Vélez Juniors's Cristian Naike got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Vélez Juniors had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
