Lisandro Nuñez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Alberto Villa having to make a save. Carlos Alberto Villa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lisandro Nuñez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, SAN LORENZO FC's Artur Quintas got a free kick in the 5th minute. The audience was convinced that Lisandro Nuñez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carlos Alberto Villa was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Carlos Alberto Villa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Nuñez in the 17th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yeray Necochea in the 19th minute of play forced SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Dario Astigar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lisandro Nuñez might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Alberto Villa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lisandro Nuñez ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lisandro Nuñez in the 22nd minute of play forced Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Villa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Talcampeón FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lisandro Nuñez came free, but Carlos Alberto Villa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 30 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelio Paredes came free, but Dario Astigar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aurelio Paredes in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dario Astigar saved SAN LORENZO FC from getting behind. In the 44th minute Lisandro Nuñez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Alberto Villa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lisandro Nuñez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Talcampeón FC's Román Ahrens got a free kick in the 51st minute. SAN LORENZO FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 54th minute, when Aurelio Paredes scored to the left of an out of position Dario Astigar, making the score, 0-1. Marcelino Fritz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 57thth minute tested the skills of Dario Astigar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Carlos Alberto Villa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lisandro Nuñez in the 59th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's goalkeeper Dario Astigar had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aurelio Paredes. Lisandro Nuñez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Carlos Alberto Villa having to make a save. Talcampeón FC's Carlos Alberto Villa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lisandro Nuñez in the 72nd minute of play. If Lisandro Nuñez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SAN LORENZO FC's Ciriaco Cordarrell was substituted for Lisandro Nuñez. If Ciriaco Cordarrell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. Dario Astigar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikel Señoret, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 93rdth minute of the game Ciriaco Cordarrell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Talcampeón FC's Carlos Alberto Villa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.
