After 6 played minutes FC Steaua Pildesti got a freekick which was hit by Nistor Costandache. In the 11th minute of the match, Bahri Ülmen got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marian Văduvescu was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Bahri Ülmen got the audience’s attention when, from a short distance, he fired away a great shot in the 12th minute of the game. The shot hit the left post and bounced out. 19 minutes into the match, FC Steaua Pildesti's goal looked a bit too open when Anselmo Morera came free, but Marian Văduvescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Antohi kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Ronnie Gregoire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucian Stere, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicodim Nebunu in the 26th minute of play forced FC Steaua Pildesti's goalkeeper Marian Văduvescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nicolae Barbu came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the FC Steaua Pildesti fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicolae Barbu couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, FC Steaua Pildesti's Constantin Deșliu got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45th minute, Zryw Samsonów's Anselmo Morera dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anselmo Morera to make the kick off. Marian Văduvescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roman Bartoszek in the 51st minute of the match. Ronnie Gregoire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Filip Paulescu in the 53rd minute. Marian Văduvescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Bartoszek in the 58th minute of play. FC Steaua Pildesti were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Zryw Samsonów's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lucian Stere took the corner. Marian Văduvescu came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Zryw Samsonów's Nicodim Nebunu. But to his dismay, Nicodim Nebunu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. 94 minutes into the game, Constantin Deșliu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Steaua Pildesti's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zryw Samsonów the free kick. Constantin Deșliu hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Zryw Samsonów had won after a very even match.
