In the 40th minute, Volmar Mouritzen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Rolando Quijana put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Gert Altorn. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

54 minutes into the game, Ventura Galego recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gert Altorn. Ventura Galego showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Xose Ruiz got free with Gert Altorn in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Hønning's zone, Ventura Galego stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gert Altorn came out of the goal and Ventura Galego tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Hønning's Gert Altorn got control of the ball when Xose Ruiz tried to sneak it across the goal line. John-Arne Riise fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carles Coppola having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Pitxu Dream Team's zone, Volmar Mouritzen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carles Coppola came out of the goal and Volmar Mouritzen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gert Altorn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rolando Quijana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Xose Ruiz came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Pitxu Dream Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xose Ruiz couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Hønning's Gert Altorn got control of the ball when Xose Ruiz tried to sneak it across the goal line.
