Basavilbaso FC's Orvar Bäckström played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's Manfred Konradsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Orvar Bäckström narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Henric Springfält blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lin Hong Song having to make a save. Orvar Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Konradsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Orvar Bäckström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Manfred Konradsson's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. In the 27th minute Manfred Konradsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orvar Bäckström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manfred Konradsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Orvar Bäckström. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Manfred Konradsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Orvar Bäckström showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manfred Konradsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Orvar Bäckström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfred Konradsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lemel SV's attentive Patrick Hoffmann managed to snatch the ball when Zayvius Bengoechea made a throw-in in the 34th minute of the game. If Manfred Konradsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 37th minute Manfred Konradsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Orvar Bäckström saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Basavilbaso FC's zone, Manfred Konradsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Orvar Bäckström came out of the goal and Manfred Konradsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Clemente Rubio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Lemel SV's Yuri Roelofsen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orvar Bäckström made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clemente Rubio made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Lemel SV's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Gentza came free, but Lin Hong Song reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manfred Konradsson in the 56th minute of play forced Basavilbaso FC's goalkeeper Orvar Bäckström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lemel SV's Edelmiro Reyes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Orvar Bäckström in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Dennis Bergkamp came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Lemel SV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dennis Bergkamp couldn't finish the play. Lemel SV's Oscar Stuijvenberg was substituted for Edelmiro Reyes. 64 minutes into the match, Basavilbaso FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dennis Bergkamp came free, but Orvar Bäckström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orvar Bäckström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennis Bergkamp in the 66th minute. After some careless play in the Basavilbaso FC defense, Dennis Bergkamp kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Orvar Bäckström. The Basavilbaso FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Orvar Bäckström should have stopped the shot. 78 minutes into the match, Basavilbaso FC's goalkeeper Orvar Bäckström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dennis Bergkamp. 79 minutes into the match, Dennis Bergkamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orvar Bäckström. Basavilbaso FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dennis Bergkamp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Basavilbaso FC's goalkeeper Orvar Bäckström, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Barry Masker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Orvar Bäckström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orvar Bäckström came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Lemel SV's Dennis Bergkamp. But to his dismay, Dennis Bergkamp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Orvar Bäckström was a little too slow when Dennis Bergkamp got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 90th minute. The score was now 0-7. In the 93rd match minute, Lemel SV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barry Masker to maneuver through the defense. The Lemel SV players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
