The supporters of Norrlands Athen booed when Villa Mitre City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Imam Sarwono didn't get a good kick on the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Long Yuan Di threw the ball into play from the sideline. Norrlands Athen's Qian Zhen Sheng quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Ariel Ponc made an important save on a dangerous shot by Måns Sandberg in the 13th minute. Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arsenio Maria in the 17th minute of play. James Madison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd match minute, Norrlands Athen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filcho Slivkov to maneuver through the defense. Villa Mitre City's Ariel Ponc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Måns Sandberg in the 24th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Måns Sandberg got free with Ariel Ponc in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arsenio Maria in the 29th minute of play forced Norrlands Athen's goalkeeper Safet Hands to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Safet Hands came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Villa Mitre City's Arsenio Maria. But to his dismay, Arsenio Maria quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Safet Hands took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from James Madison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Safet Hands showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mauricio Macías in the 36th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Juan Lebron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Villa Mitre City were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Norrlands Athen's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dante Brion took the corner. The corner ended in Dante Brion almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Norrlands Athen's Safet Hands did a great save. 43 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Måns Sandberg. Ariel Ponc stood somewhat misplaced when Måns Sandberg came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 45 minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mauricio Macías to strike the kick off in the second half. Arsenio Maria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Safet Hands tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Måns Sandberg scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ariel Ponc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Norrlands Athen getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Huang Fei Ting hit a great ball. Norrlands Athen's Calle Bergfelt was substituted for Wieslaw Wos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qian Zhen Sheng in the 67th minute of play forced Villa Mitre City's goalkeeper Ariel Ponc to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilbert Hermansson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Ariel Ponc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goal looked a bit too open when Calle Bergfelt came free, but Ariel Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 76th minute Filcho Slivkov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ariel Ponc came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Norrlands Athen's Gilbert Hermansson. But to his dismay, Gilbert Hermansson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. In the 88th minute Juan Lebron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ariel Ponc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Villa Mitre City's Imam Sarwono got a free kick in the 90th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Villa Mitre City's goal looked a bit too open when Calle Bergfelt came free, but Ariel Ponc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Norrlands Athen's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
