The crowd rose to their feet as Cecilio Tristan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yusuf Muslera. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. Hugo Orlando Gatti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Hugo Orlando Gatti took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Miroslaw Miazga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Vili Kärki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Orlando Gatti saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Vili Kärki ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hugo Orlando Gatti was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Cecilio Tristan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abuba Akotonon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cecilio Tristan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yusuf Muslera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Tristan in the 26th minute of play forced JFSP's goalkeeper Yusuf Muslera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Miroslaw Miazga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yusuf Muslera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cecilio Tristan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miroslaw Miazga in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hugo Orlando Gatti prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cecilio Tristan in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Yusuf Muslera saved JFSP from getting behind. In the 39th match minute, JFSP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jeferson Aguiar to maneuver through the defense. JFSP's Daniel Dalberg was substituted for Rubinho Zanette. After 39 played minutes JFSP got a freekick which was hit by Jeferson Aguiar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Miroslaw Miazga in the 52nd minute of play forced Abuba Akotonon FC's goalkeeper Hugo Orlando Gatti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 58 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vili Kärki came free, but Hugo Orlando Gatti reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. JFSP's João Francisco do Nascimento was substituted for Paulinho Batista. Genaro Elivareo kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Cecilio Tristan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Yusuf Muslera having to make a save. Bernardo Cabrals short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Hugo Orlando Gatti to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Abuba Akotonon FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Emanuel Aurre hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cecilio Tristan in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yusuf Muslera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 84 minutes of play, JFSP's Bernardo Cabral made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hugo Orlando Gatti was left in no man's land by his defense there! 91 minutes into the match, Abuba Akotonon FC's Cecilio Tristan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Yusuf Muslera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. William Ekelund kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. When Cecilio Tristan came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Abuba Akotonon FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cecilio Tristan couldn't finish the play. The Abuba Akotonon FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing JFSP to win.
