In the 9th minute, Cido Paranaense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Afonso Vargas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Novaes's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Cido Paranaense's late challenge caught a Lex Academy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cido Paranaense helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Brazil Academy getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Cido Paranaense hit a great ball. 19 minutes into the game, Bernardo Novaes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Afonso Vargas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Afonso Vargas was a little too slow when Bernardo Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 24th minute. The score was now 2-0. Afonso Vargas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 28th minute. With a little luck, Brazil Academy's Afonso Vargas got control of the ball when Bernardo Novaes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Brazil Academy's Cido Paranaense got his second yellow card of the match in the 38th minute. The referee ordered Cido Paranaense off the ground. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Bernardo Novaes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lex Academy's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardo Novaes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonso Vargas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tomáš Houdek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Mangueira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Vargas made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Bernardo Novaes sent off a good shot on target. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcelo Mangueira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Lex Academy's Bernardo Novaes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Afonso Vargas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. When Lex Academy's Bernardo Novaes in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After a rather tough play, Brazil Academy's Maximiliano Omar got a free kick in the 65th minute. Lex Academy's Radomir Wyrostek was substituted for Fausto Castulo. Maximiliano Omar hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Afonso Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Novaes in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 70th minute of play forced Brazil Academy's goalkeeper Afonso Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Novaes scored 4-0 in the 72nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Afonso Vargas, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 76 minutes into the match, Bernardo Novaes notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Brazil Academy's Afonso Vargas. Afonso Vargas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Afonso Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Novaes in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 80th minute of play forced Brazil Academy's goalkeeper Afonso Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brazil Academy's Afonso Vargas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Novaes in the 81st minute of play. Afonso Vargas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo Novaes in the 83rd minute of play. After having played for 95 minutes, Roman Jursa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lex Academy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Jursa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brazil Academy's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
