The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kurt Askestät during the 10th minute. Algot Ennegren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 21st minute, Mesut Özil reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Algot Ennegren. The goal made the score 3-0. Börje Tingelholm hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The supporters of Rot-Weiss-Essen booed when Linghed Angels FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulf Brander didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 29th match minute, Linghed Angels FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulf Brander to maneuver through the defense. 33 minutes into the match, Linghed Angels FC's goal looked a bit too open when Octavian Basten came free, but Algot Ennegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Algot Ennegren was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Hugo Haupt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hugo Haupt really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Anestis Kotsopoulos took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Algot Ennegren to make any attempt to save it. Algot Ennegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mesut Özil, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Hugo Haupt could shoot a difficult shot in the 45th minute, which Algot Ennegren however easily saved by the left post. Algot Ennegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anestis Kotsopoulos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Algot Ennegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mesut Özil in the 48th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Octavian Basten to make the kick off. Algot Ennegren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mesut Özil, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The corner led Rot-Weiss-Essen's Maximilian Henning to fire away a dangerous shot which Algot Ennegren despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Linghed Angels FC's Richard Lundgren got a free kick in the 58th minute. Mesut Özil scored 7-0 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Algot Ennegren, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Octavian Basten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Algot Ennegren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kryspin Banach in the 69th minute of play forced Linghed Angels FC's goalkeeper Algot Ennegren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stig-Ove Levander in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Uwe Ziege prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Algot Ennegren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Haupt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Rot-Weiss-Essen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. Algot Ennegren made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hugo Haupt in the 89th minute of play. Robert Melin was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 93 minutes into the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game. One of Linghed Angels FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Rot-Weiss-Essen:s goal. In the 94th minute there was a penalty for Rot-Weiss-Essen. Maximilian Henning stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Algot Ennegren. 10-0. 98 minutes into the match, Linghed Angels FC's goal looked a bit too open when Anestis Kotsopoulos came free, but Algot Ennegren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rot-Weiss-Essen's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
