With an extended leg and a bit of luck Serafin Bernal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Claes Fender took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Serafin Bernal to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Talleres de Escalada's Serafin Bernal got control of the ball when Claes Fender tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 20th minute Christian Urdin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Segundo Katia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Talleres de Escalada's Serafin Bernal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Talleres de Escalada from getting a goal against them. Serafin Bernal went to the wrong direction when Claes Fender was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Virgo Pechal made in the 44th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Cecilio Lesardo however managed to control. Claes Fender received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Serafin Bernal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Serafin Bernal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claes Fender in the 52nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Damazy Brytan in the 55th minute of play forced Talleres de Escalada's goalkeeper Serafin Bernal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
