Ferreira Lopes MZC's Cláudio das Neves was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Egun Pais in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. If Lokon Pøhl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Egun Pais stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ronaldo Alcântara's shot from short distance in the 11th minute. A collision led to Ferreira Lopes MZC getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Basílio Eger hit a great ball. In the 14th minute Andy Cole shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tomé Montenegro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andy Cole's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tomé Montenegro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Andy Cole ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomé Montenegro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Tomé Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andy Cole in the 23rd minute of the match. Tomé Montenegro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andy Cole, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Andy Cole scored 0-2 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tomé Montenegro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Cole in the 35th minute of play forced Ferreira Lopes MZC's goalkeeper Tomé Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egun Pais made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Dário Martins sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Ferreira Lopes MZC booed when Floresta Negra FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andy Cole to strike the kick off in the second half. Andy Cole received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tomé Montenegro came out and tried to block the shot, but Andy Cole slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 60th minute. Egun Pais showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Martins, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. In the 72nd match minute, Floresta Negra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Clemente Moura to maneuver through the defense. Basílio Eger kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Jardel Lewandowski struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Tomé Montenegro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Floresta Negra FC. After 85 minutes Floresta Negra FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Dedé Paiva who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ferreira Lopes MZC's Dedé Paiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Egun Pais despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Jardel Lewandowski came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Floresta Negra FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jardel Lewandowski couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Ferreira Lopes MZC's Tomé Montenegro got control of the ball when Jardel Lewandowski tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match was over Floresta Negra FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ferreira Lopes MZC throughout the match.
