Vito de Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentino Cedro in the 6th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Gentil in the 9th minute of play forced SC Conceição's goalkeeper Sirod Rayadi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Monte Cortazar received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Vito de Godoi came out and tried to block the shot, but Monte Cortazar slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 12th minute. With an all-out effort, SC Conceição's Vito de Godoi threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Cosme Artizar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Florentino Cedro might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vito de Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florentino Cedro ran back to his position shaking his head. SC Conceição's Dario Pereira was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Vito de Godoi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florentino Cedro in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vito de Godoi saved Matos Velhos from getting behind. Sirod Rayadi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jiang Qing Lin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the SC Conceição defense, Júlio Gentil kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sirod Rayadi. The SC Conceição fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sirod Rayadi should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the game, Matos Velhos's Henrique Candal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sirod Rayadi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Jiang Qing Lin scored 1-3 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sirod Rayadi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Florentino Cedro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vito de Godoi was a little too slow when Monte Cortazar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 42nd minute. The score was now 2-3. A collision led to SC Conceição getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Armindo Ribeiro hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Conceição's zone, Júlio Gentil stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sirod Rayadi came out of the goal and Júlio Gentil tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The SC Conceição players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Matos Velhos were winning 2-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Monte Cortazar made a kick off. In the 51st minute Júlio Gentil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sirod Rayadi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Domingos Palmeira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Cedro in the 55th minute of play forced Matos Velhos's goalkeeper Vito de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, Matos Velhos's Sirod Rayadi threw himself towards the right post 57 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Júlio Gentil, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 60 minutes into the game, Domingos Palmeira threw the ball into play from the sideline. SC Conceição's Tao Xing quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Sirod Rayadi made a fantastic save in the 94th minute, when Karl Nietlisbach sent off a good shot on target. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Matos Velhos walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
