Gustaw Jazwiec could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Ross Armitage made a huge save. Ross Armitage made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zachary Zerde in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, U21 England's Peter Pennant got a free kick in the 13th minute. With a little luck, U21 England's Ross Armitage got control of the ball when Gustaw Jazwiec tried to sneak it across the goal line. U21 England's Ross Armitage proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save U21 England from getting a goal against them. In the 20th minute, Gustaw Jazwiec left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The U21 Poland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jacek Skonieczny charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacek Skonieczny the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to U21 Poland getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Jacek Skonieczny hit a great ball. Zachary Zerde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Ross Armitage made a huge save. In the 26th minute Ashley Gardiner shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wit Bronkala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. U21 England's Ross Armitage played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Walkowski in the 33rd minute of play. The corner led U21 Poland's Alfred Mentis to fire away a dangerous shot which Ross Armitage despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Zachary Zerde could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Ross Armitage made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Adam Walkowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ross Armitage. That made the score 2-1 in the 44 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

U21 Poland's Kasino Grositskiy was substituted for Gustaw Jazwiec. The audience thought a goal was coming when Peter Pennant got free with Wit Bronkala in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Wit Bronkala made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Pennant in the 54th minute. Wawrzyniec Cipinski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Ross Armitage tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ashley Gardiner in the 70th minute of play forced U21 Poland's goalkeeper Wit Bronkala to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 74 minutes U21 Poland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vance Ainsworth who took care of the corner kick. Jimmy Muir made a great header on U21 England's corner, it was just that U21 Poland's Wit Bronkala managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 75th minute Bernard Trochowski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ross Armitage saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wit Bronkala made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Pennant in the 77th minute of play. Ross Armitage showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adam Walkowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. U21 Poland's Bernard Trochowski got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ross Armitage showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Walkowski in the 96th minute of the match. U21 Poland were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of U21 England for a fine match.
