Cayetano Dolcet hit a great ball. In the 20th minute Rudi Voeler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnulfo Erdiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Arnulfo Erdiano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Aureliano Ceandro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matey Trashliev read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. If Aureliano Ceandro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Krum Timov was shown his second yellow card after 45 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match.
