After a rather tough play, Garanhão do SUL's Silvério Sabrosa got a free kick in the 4th minute. Krasimir Balakov kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Raimundo Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Gaspar Valadão hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 24 minutes, Krasimir Balakov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Garanhão do SUL and the Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th minute, Krasimir Balakov hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Garanhão do SUL's zone, Clemente Teles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Raimundo Delgado came out of the goal and Clemente Teles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roger de Souza made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Patrício Poças sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute, Romão Miranda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Raimundo Delgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 36 played minutes Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ got a freekick which was hit by André Luís de Almeida. Roger de Souza was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Aristides Brochado. Silvério Sabrosa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Roger de Souza came out and tried to block the shot, but Silvério Sabrosa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 43rd minute.

The wind increased when Romão Miranda made the kick off in the second half. Roger de Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Sabrosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 62nd minute Clemente Teles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Delgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Treze Futebol Clube CIMZ's Roger de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romão Miranda in the 75th minute of play. Roger de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Sabrosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Garanhão do SUL made a substitution. Álvaro Calçada replaced Patrício Poças. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Teles in the 87th minute of play forced Garanhão do SUL's goalkeeper Raimundo Delgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Roger Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Álvaro Calçada took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roger de Souza. Roger de Souza dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0.
