Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Serafim Simão took the kick off in the first half of the match. Evelio Gines didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serafim Simão went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 12 minutes into the match, Acratas Unidos's goal looked a bit too open when Jhon Barcellos came free, but Evelio Gines reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celedonio Leoncio kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Evelio Gines took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jhon Barcellos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antônio Carlos Cavalcante showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Medina in the 28th minute of the match. Hermínio de Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Evelio Gines tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rolando Medina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dedé Mazer during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 44 played minutes Palestra do Interior got a freekick which was hit by Dedé Mazer. A collision led to Acratas Unidos getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Bruno Veremundo hit a great ball. Jhon Barcellos took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 48th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evelio Gines. Acratas Unidos's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After the first half Palestra do Interior were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rolando Medina to make the kick off. Evelio Gines made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jhon Barcellos in the 52nd minute. After 54 played minutes Acratas Unidos got a freekick which was hit by Astor Obano. After a defensive mix-up in Acratas Unidos's zone, Serafim Simão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evelio Gines came out of the goal and Serafim Simão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the game, Desiderio Cedro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Acratas Unidos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra do Interior the free kick. After a rather tough play, Acratas Unidos's Desiderio Cedro got a free kick in the 59th minute. Evelio Gines was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jhon Barcellos. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rolando Medina in the 63rd minute of play forced Palestra do Interior's goalkeeper Antônio Carlos Cavalcante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Evelio Gines made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Serafim Simão sent off a good shot on target. Acratas Unidos's Evelio Gines proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save Acratas Unidos from getting a goal against them. Norberto Passos hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 80th minute Norberto Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Gines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Serafim Simão left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palestra do Interior fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 92 minutes had been played when some careless play by Palestra do Interior's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rolando Medina was slow to take the kick. During this time Acratas Unidos's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Acratas Unidos's corner Rolando Medina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Antônio Carlos Cavalcante quite easily take care of the ball. 93 minutes into the match, Palestra do Interior's goal looked a bit too open when Nereo Pancho came free, but Antônio Carlos Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Palestra do Interior supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palestra do Interior would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
