Atlanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Kauldi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anibal Fernendo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Braulio Berasko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arturo Flores charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Arturo Flores the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 15th minute, Arturo Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Candido Millan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Kauldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Alvaro Ermano kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 28thth minute of the game Pedro Maraman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but C. A. Atlanta's Braulio Berasko was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Feliciano Isias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Atlanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palermo the free kick. Feliciano Isias hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Braulio Berasko came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo's Anibal Fernendo. But to his dismay, Anibal Fernendo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The supporters of C. A. Atlanta booed when Palermo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Urtungo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Honorio Oliverio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mariano Urtungo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arturo Flores to strike the kick off in the second half. Honorio Oliverio's late challenge caught a Palermo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Honorio Oliverio helped the player get up and apologised. When Federico Martxelin came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the C. A. Atlanta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Federico Martxelin couldn't finish the play. After 58 played minutes Palermo got a freekick which was hit by Anibal Fernendo. Ivan Oalo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute, Baldomiro Gamus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Baldomiro Gamus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedro Maraman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Arturo Flores took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Candido Millan to make any attempt to save it. In the 79th match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Honorio Oliverio to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to C. A. Atlanta getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Feliciano Isias hit a great ball. 87 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's goal looked a bit too open when Anibal Fernendo came free, but Braulio Berasko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Braulio Berasko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Maraman, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. Braulio Berasko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldomiro Gamus in the 89th minute of the match. When Romeo Presebal fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palermo's protests and gave Romeo Presebal a yellow card for diving instead. Romeo Presebal kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Pedro Maraman's late challenge caught a C. A. Atlanta's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Maraman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 96th match minute, Palermo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Maraman to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Federico Martxelin during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Palermo booed when C. A. Atlanta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Martxelin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Palermo fans cheered their team off the field, for while C. A. Atlanta had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
