Carlo Borgatello could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Mutlu Baykam made a huge save. After 21 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Borgatello. 23 minutes into the game, Trento Calcio 1921's Fortunato Gatti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Antognoni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Mutlu Baykam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlo Borgatello in the 26th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Carlo Borgatello took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Mutlu Baykam to make any attempt to save it. With a little luck, Trento Calcio 1921's Mutlu Baykam got control of the ball when Carlo Borgatello tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Frank Galli made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Carlo Borgatello made a precise shot to the right of Mutlu Baykam. Trento Calcio 1921's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. Mutlu Baykam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 94 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Attilio Sciarra. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Italy's goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Italy had won after a very even match.
