Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Davide Rinaldi kicked off to start the match. Fábio Grosso hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Carlo Borgatello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Fortunato Sangermano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Italy's Bruno Antognoni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kleanthis Zoumakis in the 10th minute of play. Bruno Antognoni showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Rinaldi, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Kleanthis Zoumakis came free, but Bruno Antognoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Pedro Velasco almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Italy's Bruno Antognoni did a great save. 23 minutes into the match, Davide Rinaldi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bruno Antognoni. Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Davide Rinaldi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 30 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Kleanthis Zoumakis came free, but Bruno Antognoni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Mara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Rinaldi in the 37th minute of play forced Italy's goalkeeper Bruno Antognoni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Herta Budino's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Fábio Grosso in the 39th minute. A nice corner shot did that Fábio Grosso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bruno Antognoni quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Bruno Antognoni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Davide Rinaldi in the 43rd minute of play. Herta Budino's Pedro Velasco managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Alessandro Mara in the 45 minute of the game. After the first half Herta Budino were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Davide Rinaldi got free with Bruno Antognoni in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Italy's zone, Kleanthis Zoumakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Antognoni came out of the goal and Kleanthis Zoumakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Italy's Attilio Sciarra was substituted for Rui Costa. Italy made a substitution. Flavio Miconi replaced Anfilogino Pittelli. A collision led to Herta Budino getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Johannes Fransson hit a great ball. Herta Budino's Fortunato Sangermano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carmine Bonanni in the 65th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Herta Budino's goal looked a bit too open when Carmine Bonanni came free, but Fortunato Sangermano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alessandro Mara made in the 67th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Attilio Sciarra immediately put the ball in play. Fortunato Sangermano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Bonanni in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Flavio Miconi notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Herta Budino's Fortunato Sangermano. Fortunato Sangermano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Herta Budino made a substitution. Virgílio Furtado replaced Achille Di Crescenzo. In the 89th match minute, Herta Budino was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan-Frederik Bubanja to maneuver through the defense. Fortunato Sangermano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carmine Bonanni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 94 minutes into the game, Virgílio Furtado lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Bruno Antognoni. The Herta Budino supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Herta Budino would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
