Aristides Barea showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Rocchi in the 10th minute of the match. Aristides Barea made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ramon Menezes in the 17th minute. Ramon Menezes hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute Ander Uibomäe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Barea saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vinícius Paranaenses short, quick shot in the 36thth minute got Aristides Barea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Mihály Fülep recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ramon Menezes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Aristides Barea made a huge save. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 54th minute of the match Xv de Piracicaba got a corner. O rey Iván's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Christian Ivanschitz ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Christian Ivanschitz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but O rey Iván's Aristides Barea did a great save. O rey Iván made a substitution. Pastor Martxot replaced Dionisio Orland. 59 minutes had been played when some careless play by O rey Iván's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Christian Ivanschitz was slow to take the kick. During this time Xv de Piracicaba's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Xv de Piracicaba's Christian Ivanschitz to fire away a dangerous shot which Aristides Barea despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Aristides Barea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramon Menezes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. O rey Iván's Aristides Barea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Menezes in the 66th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, Abel Panfilo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sebastian Sandberg, 1-2. Sebastian Sandberg came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by O rey Iván's Abel Panfilo. But to his dismay, Abel Panfilo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. In the 75th minute, Pavel Drâmbă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramon Menezes in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aristides Barea saved O rey Iván from getting behind. Aristides Barea showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Menezes, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After 89 played minutes Xv de Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Frank Corrêa. 91 minutes into the game, Xv de Piracicaba's Alfredo Rocchi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aristides Barea made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. O rey Iván's Aristides Barea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon Menezes in the 96th minute of play. The Xv de Piracicaba supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching O rey Iván's performance. The match ended with a win for O rey Iván.
