The supporters of Xv de Piracicaba booed when O rey Iván was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mihály Fülep didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christian Ivanschitz kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alfredo Rocchi to make the kick off. The throw-in from Frank Corrêa in the 52nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by O rey Iván's Franz Kafka. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Rocchi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aristides Barea was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. O rey Iván made a substitution. Abel Panfilo replaced Mihály Fülep. O rey Iván's Jacinto Resto was substituted for Modesto Garcia.
