With a left leg Gonzo Maradona saved Les Tigres from getting behind. After some careless play in the Lions United defense, Luboš Štencl kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Steve De Wilde. The Lions United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Steve De Wilde should have stopped the shot. Luboš Štencl received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Steve De Wilde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lions United's Firmo Linde quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Grzegorz Sokolski, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Steve De Wilde made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Venancio Prejun sent off a good shot on target. After 30 played minutes Les Tigres got a freekick which was hit by Grzegorz Sokolski. Steve De Wilde was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Venancio Prejun capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Venancio Prejun really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 36th minute Pan Jian Yong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzo Maradona saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venancio Prejun took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Steve De Wilde. Steve De Wilde dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 47 minutes into the match, Lions United's goalkeeper Steve De Wilde had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Venancio Prejun. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Pan Jian Yong might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gonzo Maradona. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pan Jian Yong ran back to his position shaking his head. A sloppy throw-in by Grzegorz Sokolski in the 55th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lions United's Taribo Ndukwe. Pan Jian Yong could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Gonzo Maradona made a huge save. 62 minutes into the match, Lions United's goal looked a bit too open when Ömer-Asaf Güneş came free, but Steve De Wilde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lions United's Steve De Wilde played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ömer-Asaf Güneş in the 65th minute of play. In the 66th minute Ömer-Asaf Güneş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve De Wilde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steve De Wilde showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Severino Estevez, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Pan Jian Yong's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gonzo Maradona read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Ömer-Asaf Güneş shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve De Wilde saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pan Jian Yong struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Gonzo Maradona didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lions United.

There was no doubt that Les Tigres were the better team. Les Tigres's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
