Hans-Martin Istad started the match with the kick off. After 4 minutes Masters United F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fu Peng Feng who took care of the corner kick. Masters United F.C.'s Enrique Bologna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perivaldo Eger in the 12th minute of play. Perivaldo Eger hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Perivaldo Eger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Bologna was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Perivaldo Eger put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Enrique Bologna. Kurt Ginneken sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save De Pelgrims from getting a goal against them. Yu Yi hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hans-Martin Istad in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mike Zoetmulder prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Enrique Bologna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Eger, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th match minute, Masters United F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saverio Teofilio to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Aurelio Cuarto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Enrique Bologna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huub Gerrits in the 45th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Perivaldo Eger was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Florencio Rafe came free, but Mike Zoetmulder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enrique Bologna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Perivaldo Eger in the 54th minute. Mike Zoetmulder took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Hotz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute Hans-Martin Istad shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mike Zoetmulder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Perivaldo Eger struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Enrique Bologna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for De Pelgrims. Masters United F.C. made a substitution. Herminio Frantzes replaced Celso Hotz. A hard shot 66 in the game by Perivaldo Eger from a close distance when the talented Enrique Bologna managed to make a qualified save. Masters United F.C.'s players were relieved. The supporters of De Pelgrims booed when Masters United F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florencio Rafe didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, De Pelgrims's Enrique Bologna threw himself towards the right post 69 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Huub Gerrits, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Huub Gerrits had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, De Pelgrims's Enrique Bologna threw himself towards the right post 80 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kurt Ginneken, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Perivaldo Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Bologna having to interfere. Dino Rava kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Anselmo Ted kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
