The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to MUSHIBA FC getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Frédson do Vale hit a great ball. Héctor Hernández could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Murillo Valladares made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in MUSHIBA FC's zone, Manfredo de Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Murillo Valladares came out of the goal and Manfredo de Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Manfredo de Azevedo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Murillo Valladares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. When Afonsinho Medeiros fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MAZER SAF's protests and gave Afonsinho Medeiros a yellow card for diving instead. Cacá Ramalho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Toninho Schmidt. MAZER SAF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, MAZER SAF's Valdo Sampaio got a free kick in the 23rd minute. 26 minutes into the match, MUSHIBA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Gonçalves came free, but Murillo Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Murillo Valladares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Manfredo de Azevedo went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Álvaro Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes MUSHIBA FC got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Fontes. Toninho Schmidt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Donato, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rodolfo Donato to make the kick off. Matheus Bidaut hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. MAZER SAF made a substitution. Enéas Ceresso replaced Paulo Renato Gonçalves. MAZER SAF made a substitution. MAZER SAF's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
