After 3 played minutes Jeselnic got a freekick which was hit by Codruț Schipor. Costică Zgârcu kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. During the 7th minute of the match Codruț Schipor completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Codruț Schipor a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 8th minute, Codruț Schipor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sandu Mincu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Humberto Saron, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Humberto Saron in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sandu Mincu saved Jeselnic from getting behind. Humberto Saron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandu Mincu having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Humberto Saron put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sandu Mincu. After a rather tough play, Jeselnic's Costică Zgârcu got a free kick in the 26th minute. The supporters of Philadelphia Union FC booed when Jeselnic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneliu Andrițoiu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corneliu Andrițoiu hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. If Humberto Saron had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 37th minute, Humberto Saron made a precise shot to the right of Sandu Mincu. Jeselnic's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Humberto Saron fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandu Mincu having to interfere. Teobald Siembab recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Alex Poenaru made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Humberto Saron left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Philadelphia Union FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After 54 minutes, Humberto Saron made it 0-6 with a short kick to the right side. Jeselnic's Sandu Mincu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 58 minutes, Sandu Mincu successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. When the match clock showed 60 minutes, the score became 0-7 when Humberto Saron sped through Jeselnic's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sandu Mincu. The Philadelphia Union FC fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Philadelphia Union FC's Humberto Saron looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-8 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Irinel Unciuleanu made in the 68th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Alex Poenaru however managed to control. Sandu Mincu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 71st minute. A sloppy throw-in by Horaţiu Lazăr in the 72nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Philadelphia Union FC's Lev Voinarovskyi. Myroslav Zanevskyi who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 73rdth minute tested the skills of Sandu Mincu when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gabriel Rogozanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 77th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dmytro Zhak. Philadelphia Union FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Myroslav Zanevskyi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sandu Mincu having to interfere. Artem Skomorokha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jeselnic's Sandu Mincu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 89th minute of play. Sandu Mincu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 92nd minute of play. Sandu Mincu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Myroslav Zanevskyi in the 92nd minute. Domenico Costacurta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Sandu Mincu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

When the match was over Philadelphia Union FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Jeselnic throughout the match.
