When Jozef Hauser fell near the penalty area in the 4th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kysučan FK's protests and gave Jozef Hauser a yellow card for diving instead. Jozef Hauser kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Kysučan FK's zone, Krister Jonasson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivan Kurina came out of the goal and Krister Jonasson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomáš Kundrát during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Kysučan FK's Tomáš Kundrát got a free kick in the 18th minute. Oskar Nyström struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Ivan Kurina didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Malmö FF. In the 28th minute, Krister Jonasson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Malmö FF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 33rd minute of the match Vilhelm Vollander sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ivan Kurina skillfully saved the ball. Kent Öman hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Ivan Kurina took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krister Jonasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Kurina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Krister Jonasson, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Krister Jonasson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Kurina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Ivan Kurina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Krister Jonasson's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Kysučan FK's goalie and right to Oskar Nyström. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Kysučan FK's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The Kysučan FK players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Malmö FF were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Krister Jonasson made the kick off in the second half. Östen Johnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Kysučan FK's Jozef Hauser got a free kick in the 56th minute. If Martin Šrobár had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Östen Johnsson got free with Ivan Kurina in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 66 minutes into the game, one of Kysučan FK:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kysučan FK's Ivan Kurina proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Kysučan FK from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Malmö FF's Östen Johnsson got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Krister Jonasson took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivan Kurina. Ivan Kurina dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Jozef Hauser hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Krister Jonasson in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ivan Kurina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The throw-in from Johnny Källberg in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Kysučan FK's Zdeno Tkáč. In the 86th minute, Martin Šrobár got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Kysučan FK's Martin Šrobár sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Greger Lindmark narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 92 played minutes Malmö FF got a freekick which was hit by Kent Öman. A hard shot 96 in the game by Krister Jonasson from a close distance when the talented Ivan Kurina managed to make a qualified save. Kysučan FK's players were relieved.

The Kysučan FK supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Malmö FF's performance. The match ended with a win for Malmö FF.
