After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Dalmo Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dalmo Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Adrian Milevski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute Stanyo Mindizov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Lara saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper Giuseppe Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tzvyatko Trifonov. Zé Carlos Cordeiro hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Stanyo Mindizov struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Giuseppe Lara didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SPARROWS. Adrian Milevski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Telmo Barbosa in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmo Rocha in the 36th minute of play forced SPARROWS's goalkeeper Adrian Milevski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adrian Milevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Alagoano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

SPARROWS made a substitution. Huben Temelyotev replaced Tzvyatko Trifonov. A collision led to SPARROWS getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Vesko Kanin hit a great ball. SPARROWS's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when César Alagoano scored to the left of an out of position Adrian Milevski, making the score, 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in SPARROWS's zone, Dalmo Rocha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrian Milevski came out of the goal and Dalmo Rocha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 61st minute of the match, Telmo Barbosa got a very nice opportunity to score, but Adrian Milevski was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Yosif Gergov hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Anselmo Batista shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Adrian Milevski but with some difficulty. Anselmo Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Dalmo Rocha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Adrian Milevski made a huge save. The supporters of SPARROWS booed when Nova Iguaçu MZFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladimir Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Arthur Amaral was substituted for Túlio Vale. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Carlos Augusto Alcântara was substituted for Murilo Urbano. In the 74th minute, Vladimir Braga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Yosif Gergov took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Giuseppe Lara. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luizinho Neves hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Giuseppe Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benislav Bozov in the 88th minute of the match. With a little luck, SPARROWS's Adrian Milevski got control of the ball when Telmo Barbosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
