The throw-in from Antonio Costantini in the 38th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Albins Kamrater's Viktor Nyström. Jan-Åke Jönsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roland Záhoran in the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Amadeu Bacelar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Fisher came out of the goal and Amadeu Bacelar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute Ernst Vikström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Fisher saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Bacelar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Albins Kamrater's supporters rose to their feet, but Krister Rudkvist was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hugo Fisher breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The AFK Petržalka supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AFK Petržalka would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
