The crowd rose to their feet as El Canalla de Chicago's Scott Souza slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kléberson Soeiro. That made the score 1-0 after 22 minutes of play. 25 minutes into the game, El Canalla de Chicago's Scott Souza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kléberson Soeiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 27th minute Shawn Reyna suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Fernando Banders's late challenge caught a El Canalla de Chicago's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Ortiz in the 38th minute of play forced El Canalla de Chicago's goalkeeper Roosevelt Guthrie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kasey Frederick kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Caetano Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roosevelt Guthrie having to interfere. Kléberson Soeiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Potts, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Vince Potts blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kléberson Soeiro having to make a save. Bernie Rosales made a great header on El Canalla de Chicago's corner, it was just that Bandeca FC's Kléberson Soeiro managed to reach the ball for a save. Roosevelt Guthrie made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caio de Salles in the 68th minute. After 71 minutes, Leo Finn mouthed his way into the referee's book. Roosevelt Guthrie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tiago Ortiz in the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The El Canalla de Chicago fans cheered their team off the field, for while Bandeca FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
