Louis Hasenkamp didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ivaylo Yordanov went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 14th match minute, U21 Luxembourg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Milo Hammerschmidt to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Edward Grasmück in the 17th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by U21 Portugal's Gualter Espírito Santo. U21 Portugal's Antero Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cédric Payen in the 17th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Ivaylo Yordanov had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Louis Hasenkamp. U21 Luxembourg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivaylo Yordanov was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. U21 Luxembourg's defense could not quite keep up when Moisés Álvares in the 26th minute got ready and shot a well placed long shot on target. It was only the outstanding action taken by the goalkeeper Louis Hasenkamp that stopped the ball from going in by the upper left corner. In the 32nd minute Cédric Payen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antero Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Machado Assis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Louis Hasenkamp having to interfere. With a little luck, U21 Luxembourg's Louis Hasenkamp got control of the ball when Ivaylo Yordanov tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Machado Assis came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the U21 Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Machado Assis couldn't finish the play. Antero Linhares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cédric Payen, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ivaylo Yordanov was the one to do the kick off. When Cédric Payen came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the U21 Luxembourg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cédric Payen couldn't finish the play. If Ivaylo Yordanov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Machado Assis in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Louis Hasenkamp prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Ivaylo Yordanov sped through U21 Luxembourg's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Louis Hasenkamp. 62 minutes into the match, U21 Luxembourg's goal looked a bit too open when Ivaylo Yordanov came free, but Louis Hasenkamp reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Cédric Payen fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Antero Linhares, passed just outside the right post. Ivaylo Yordanov's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Louis Hasenkamp read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Louis Hasenkamp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivaylo Yordanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. U21 Portugal's Ricardo Vasques was substituted for Moisés Álvares. A collision led to U21 Luxembourg getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Milo Hammerschmidt hit a great ball. The supporters of U21 Portugal booed when U21 Luxembourg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cédric Payen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, U21 Luxembourg's Cédric Payen got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Richard Dawkins put it in 4-0 from a short distance just to the right of Louis Hasenkamp. Normando Macena kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Louis Hasenkamp showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Dawkins, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Frankie Kremer in the 93rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by U21 Portugal's Emanuel Mourinho. In the 95th minute, Richard Dawkins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Louis Hasenkamp was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0.
