Luke Bush was a little too slow when Olly Paley got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 14th minute Franz Midgley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sly Collier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sly Collier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Franz Midgley, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Sly Collier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Franz Midgley's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Franz Midgley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Sly Collier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Olly Paley hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olly Paley got free with Luke Bush in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stickleback Utd Xl's Kris Tetley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Luke Bush in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 31st match minute, T H F C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matt Friend to maneuver through the defense. Sly Collier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franz Midgley in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 35th minute of the match Stickleback Utd Xl got a corner. T H F C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kris Tetley ran over to the corner to take the kick. A collision led to T H F C getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dave Hartley hit a great ball. In the 38th minute of the match, Jhonny Del Fierro tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luke Bush saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 42nd minute Donny Beckwith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sly Collier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Franz Midgley in the 47th minute of play forced Stickleback Utd Xl's goalkeeper Sly Collier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After taking down the ball on T H F C's corner Daniel Gillow fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sly Collier quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grégory Will in the 64th minute of play forced T H F C's goalkeeper Luke Bush to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 65th match minute, T H F C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronan Sugden to maneuver through the defense. Stickleback Utd Xl's Sly Collier proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Stickleback Utd Xl from getting a goal against them. Sly Collier made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Rowan Tyler sent off a good shot on target. The T H F C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing T H F C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
