Beila Mora's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Artur Boruc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 45th minute, Nerio Etxeberria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Austra 04 VFC's Sócrates Silva tried to score from far away in the 46th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Policarpio Lama could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Hudson Gaúcho made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
In the 53rd match minute, Austra 04 VFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomé Damião to maneuver through the defense. But to his dismay, Beila Mora quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 76 minutes into the match, Rayo Bengala's goalkeeper Artur Boruc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sócrates Silva. If Beila Mora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rayo Bengala made a substitution. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
