With an extended leg and a bit of luck Genaro Quiroga prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 41st minute, River Plate's Romulo Casado ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Artur Brudzisz. Artur Brudzisz yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Bacardi Black Bats's Artur Brudzisz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Bacardi Black Bats from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romulo Casado was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Bacardi Black Bats's Wojciech Grunwalski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Genaro Quiroga. That made the score 2-2 after 55 minutes of play. In the 59thth minute of the game Horaţiu Bacalbașa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Genaro Quiroga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Bacardi Black Bats's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hermenegildo Rebelo in the 60th minute. After 62 minutes, Yao Liang Ming mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bacardi Black Bats and the River Plate players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 61st minute of the game. One of Bacardi Black Bats:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of River Plate:s goal. The referee gave River Plate a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Romulo Casado, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bacardi Black Bats's Artur Brudzisz. 3-2. River Plate made a substitution. In the 77th minute, Hermenegildo Rebelo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 82 minutes into the match, River Plate's goalkeeper Genaro Quiroga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Horaţiu Bacalbașa. After having played for 84 minutes, Hermenegildo Rebelo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacardi Black Bats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hermenegildo Rebelo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the match, Romulo Casado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Artur Brudzisz. Bacardi Black Bats's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Romulo Casado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Genaro Quiroga didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 92nd minute, which inside left pole to 4-3. Bacardi Black Bats's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
