Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Aurelio Badilla kicked off to start the match. Ernesto Monge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reiner Fallas, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute Elias Carballo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frank Mora saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute Aurelio Badilla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ernesto Monge saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Monge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antonio Picado in the 16th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Antonio Picado notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of CS La Libertad's Ernesto Monge. Ernesto Monge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Reiner Fallas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ernesto Monge came out and tried to block the shot, but Reiner Fallas slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 18th minute. Ernesto Monge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aurelio Badilla in the 21st minute of the match. Aurelio Badilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Monge having to interfere. After 25 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aurelio Badilla. After a rather tough play, CS La Libertad's Reynaldo Esquivel got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game Aurelio Badilla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CS La Libertad's Ernesto Monge was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aurelio Badilla in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernesto Monge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Reiner Fallas took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ernesto Monge. Ernesto Monge dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustin Barrantes in the 44th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Frank Mora to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agustin Barrantes made a kick off. Leo Calvo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Monge having to interfere. Jorge Luna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Monge having to interfere. After 57 played minutes CS La Libertad got a freekick which was hit by İbrahim Efe Ergener. In the 59th minute, Reiner Fallas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Costa Rica made a substitution. Alfonso Mejias replaced Aurelio Badilla. When the match had gone on for 78 minutes, Alfonso Mejias put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ernesto Monge. Costa Rica's Leo Calvo got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfonso Mejias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ernesto Monge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jorge Luna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernesto Monge having to interfere. CS La Libertad's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
