An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolas Sarmento in the 17th minute of play forced Sabaneta FC's goalkeeper Kevin Mier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kevin Mier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 狄迪傲 in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute FC Basel were awarded a corner. Wojciech Kostka went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Wojciech Kostka got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Kevin Mier quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 25 minutes into the match, FC Basel's goal looked a bit too open when Petri Romuroso came free, but Okanalp Tuncer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cássio Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Okanalp Tuncer having to interfere. Stanislaw Cempa took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Okanalp Tuncer. Okanalp Tuncer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Okanalp Tuncer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Correia in the 44th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rian Giggs made a kick off. Petri Romuroso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Okanalp Tuncer having to make a save. FC Basel's Okanalp Tuncer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Petri Romuroso in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Rian Giggs made a precise shot to the right of Okanalp Tuncer. FC Basel's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. With an all-out effort, Sabaneta FC's Okanalp Tuncer threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rian Giggs, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rian Giggs got free with Okanalp Tuncer in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rian Giggs took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Okanalp Tuncer. Okanalp Tuncer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Sabaneta FC made a substitution. Firman Urquizu replaced Bonifaco Corrillos. Cássio Correias short, quick shot in the 73rdth minute got Okanalp Tuncer to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. FC Basel's Simon Wedlock was substituted for Long Dong. Sabaneta FC's Yoel Magarinos was substituted for Stanislaw Cempa. FC Basel's Okanalp Tuncer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Basel from getting a goal against them. Okanalp Tuncer was a little too slow when Cássio Correia got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 0-5.
