The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Alf Mortimer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Gavan in the 5th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Windsor's Roy Longden got a free kick in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rupert Norman in the 19th minute of play forced Medway FC's goalkeeper Alf Mortimer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Windsor fans' excitement grew in the 20th match minute when Windsor's Rupert Norman looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 24thth minute of the game Kyle Robson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Medway FC's Alf Mortimer was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Medway FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Curtis Eslworth was slow to take the kick. During this time Windsor's players had a chance to rest. Alf Mortimer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Gavan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Medway FC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Jordan Wilkins hit a great ball. Medway FC's Alf Mortimer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Gavan in the 36th minute of play. Chris Croxford kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute of the match Buster Button sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Calum Hirst skillfully saved the ball. After some careless play in the Medway FC defense, Kyle Robson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alf Mortimer. The Medway FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alf Mortimer should have stopped the shot. Alf Mortimer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rupert Norman in the 44th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Dry in the 45th minute of play forced Windsor's goalkeeper Calum Hirst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Kyle Robson made the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Medway FC defense, Rupert Norman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Alf Mortimer. The Medway FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Alf Mortimer should have stopped the shot. After 56 played minutes Windsor got a freekick which was hit by Nial Barat. 60 minutes into the match, Windsor's goal looked a bit too open when Wally Heath came free, but Calum Hirst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kirk Durkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Medway FC's Alf Mortimer got control of the ball when Rupert Norman tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Des Munroe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alf Mortimer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Des Munroe in the 68th minute of play forced Medway FC's goalkeeper Alf Mortimer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Dry scored 1-3 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Calum Hirst, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Russell Snowden in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alf Mortimer prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Calum Hirst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Dry in the 78th minute of play. 82 minutes into the match, Medway FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kyle Robson came free, but Alf Mortimer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 82 minutes, Jordan Wilkins mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medway FC and the Windsor players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Medway FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Jordan Wilkins hit a great ball. Medway FC's Alf Mortimer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Medway FC from getting a goal against them. After 85 minutes of play Medway FC's Jordan Wilkins was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Windsor booed when Medway FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jordan Wilkins didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Des Munroe took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Alf Mortimer to make any attempt to save it. After a defensive mix-up in Windsor's zone, Felix Dry stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Calum Hirst came out of the goal and Felix Dry tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Windsor supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Windsor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
