Howard Acton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vidar Tingelholm in the 6th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Laurence Rashleigh during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Goal Diggers FC's Laurence Rashleigh got a free kick in the 13th minute. In the 16th minute, David Anson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nils Nässén was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 21st match minute, Goal Diggers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Kinsey to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute of the match Olov Stenström sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Howard Acton skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vidar Tingelholm in the 29th minute of play forced Goal Diggers FC's goalkeeper Howard Acton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Howard Acton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olov Stenström in the 32nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Goal Diggers FC defense, Rikard Johansson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Howard Acton. The Goal Diggers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Howard Acton should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Hakenäset FF booed when Goal Diggers FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44th match minute, Goal Diggers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andy Kinsey to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute of the match Gert Beck sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Howard Acton skillfully saved the ball. Howard Acton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olov Stenström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Laurence Rashleigh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nils Nässén read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. 54 minutes into the game, Vidar Tingelholm cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Howard Acton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 58th match minute, Goal Diggers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denny Fowler to maneuver through the defense. 67 minutes into the game, Hakenäset FF's Rikard Johansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Howard Acton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. During the 77th minute of the match Laurence Rashleigh completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Laurence Rashleigh a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 77th match minute, Goal Diggers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Laurence Rashleigh to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Goal Diggers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Olov Stenström came free, but Howard Acton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hakenäset FF's Vidar Tingelholm in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goal Diggers FC's goalie prevented a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hakenäset FF had played much better football throughout.
