After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Anatol Hönes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lyon 69ers's supporters rose to their feet, but Anatol Hönes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hayden Baker breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Abeitia in the 16th minute of play forced Polonia Basildon's goalkeeper Hayden Baker to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hayden Baker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anatol Hönes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hayden Baker didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anatol Hönes went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Anatol Hönes struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Hayden Baker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lyon 69ers. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Anatol Hönes in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hayden Baker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hayden Baker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerardo Abeitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Polonia Basildon's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Beaune came free, but Hayden Baker reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute, Gerardo Abeitia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hayden Baker was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Guy Durant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rupert Longden, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Polonia Basildon's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Rupert Longden in the 52nd minute. Hayden Baker took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathias Lecanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute Severo Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guy Durant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lyon 69ers's Wendell Borges got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Severo Laurentzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Gerardo Abeitia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hayden Baker. That made the score 0-3 in the 71 minute of play. Hayden Baker stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Anatol Hönes's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Anatol Hönes in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hayden Baker saved Polonia Basildon from getting behind. 89 minutes into the game, Gerardo Abeitia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hayden Baker. Gerardo Abeitia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 92nd match minute, Lyon 69ers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wendell Borges to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anatol Hönes got free with Hayden Baker in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gerardo Abeitia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
