In the 13th minute Nicanor Flores shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Titz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Quebracho FC's Alexander Van Houdtvinck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Ogășanu in the 21st minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emanuel Ogășanu to make the kick off. Alexander Van Houdtvinck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy Rothe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Nereo Florian ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sebastian Titz was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. If He Yi Yuan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Quebracho FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Sydney FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
