The ball went over the crossbar instead. Carlisle Schultz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gong Ao Guang in the 5th minute of the match. Ingemar Kilman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xaiver Rosende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Gong Ao Guang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's goal looked a bit too open when Gong Ao Guang came free, but Carlisle Schultz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xaiver Rosende made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ingemar Kilman sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Fluminense DF booed when C.A. Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Torrealba didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingemar Kilman's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xaiver Rosende read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Aslan Raci kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Fluminense DF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Furlan to maneuver through the defense. Ingemar Kilman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but Xaiver Rosende made a huge save. A sloppy throw-in by Don Pico in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Fluminense DF's Luiz Trigo. 39 minutes into the match, Fluminense DF's Ingemar Kilman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xaiver Rosende narrowly saved just below the crossbar. C.A. Peñarol's Xaiver Rosende played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingemar Kilman in the 41st minute of play. Ingemar Kilman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Xaiver Rosende made a huge save. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Ingemar Kilman made the kick off in the second half. Gong Ao Guang struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Carlisle Schultz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.A. Peñarol. Xaiver Rosende made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caio Travassos in the 66th minute of play. The supporters of C.A. Peñarol booed when Fluminense DF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oğuzcan Halıcı didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlisle Schultz was a little too slow when Gong Ao Guang got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 68th minute. The score was now 0-1. Carlisle Schultz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gong Ao Guang, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. Caio Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match.

The Fluminense DF manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing C.A. Peñarol to win.
