The supporters of FC Philotimo booed when CAN ERZURUM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joar Scheie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mister Trump, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. After 24 played minutes FC Philotimo got a freekick which was hit by Didiet Suprianto. In the 29th match minute, FC Philotimo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgard Donzel to maneuver through the defense. A sloppy throw-in by Mauricio Froylan in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by CAN ERZURUM's Birkan Kayra. Jacek Krzynowek charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The crowd rose to their feet as CAN ERZURUM's Birkan Kayra slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vitomir Vutov. That made the score 1-0 after 46 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sven-Olof Vestlund stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. CAN ERZURUM's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
