Água Santa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gafur Balkanlıoğlu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Casemiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Água Santa's Gafur Balkanlıoğlu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Carlos Alberto Villa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Lolo Acharan came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Talcampeón FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lolo Acharan couldn't finish the play. E.C. Água Santa's Andrézinho Berger was substituted for Gafur Balkanlıoğlu. E.C. Água Santa's Frank da Rocha was substituted for Valdomiro Rosado. In the 93rd match minute, Talcampeón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yeray Necochea to maneuver through the defense.

The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. E.C. Água Santa were victorious despite being under pressure from Talcampeón FC for much of the match.
