CJ Asensio was slow to take the kick. During this time Los Trip's players had a chance to rest. In the 37th minute, Edu Carvalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Los Trip fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Geronimo Salomone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Agustín Rossi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. Agustín Rossi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. In the 95th minute Bruno Capello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Henriques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Racing Club's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
